Synopsis:

The show follows Morgan Reed, a frustrated vegan scientist turned eco-terrorist, in her increasingly violent fight against the big meat  industry. At the start of the story, Morgan is a brilliant mosquito researcher working to eradicate malaria. When she gets fired from her job due to her unwillingness to conduct animal testing, the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) recruits her for their cause. At first, Morgan reluctantly agrees to engineer a strain of mosquitoes capable of infecting humans with a meat allergy.

 

As the season continues, she and her family participate in escalating attacks against factory farms as they evade FBI investigations. Tragedy strikes when a supergerm from a rescued piglet infects Morgan’s daughter Ash and sends her into a coma. Coupled with the discovery that the same farm has tricked them into doing its bidding, Morgan goes down a path of vengeance. Morgan plots to bomb the National Meat Conference and kill  the nation’s biggest meat producers. The only thing that can stop her is her remaining family, stuck in the crossfire between the ALF and  the meat industry. Through Morgan’s eyes, we get an exciting look into the lives of animal rights extremists who would fight for animal  liberation at the cost of human lives. Liberation is a story that explores themes of family, freedom and the relative nature of morality.
